S Baker's Story
Hello Everybody !
It's been a lonnnnnng time since I've had any communication with, well, anyone. Guess I'll start and end with just the basics. Otherwise this could turn into a book. I left Evansville at the end of 1973. Graduated a semester early, somehow. I then moved to Southern CA to attend college. I started off and ended attending a Community College for 2 years. Then transferring to UCLA for a year & a half. Started living at the beach in 1976, till about 1989. I skipped the last semester when I got accepted into the Los Angele's County Fire Department (LACFD) I was injured in a helicopter crash (1979). Had a few surgeries which ended my career in the LACFD.
Went into the family business for awhile. Then my Father passed away and the business was sold. Then did a-lot of world traveling Living in a few places for six months, here and there.Came back to the states in 1983. h she lived a block up from my condo at the beach. We then lived at the place I had. I then, some-how, ended up in the body shop business. Ended up working for B M W NA (B M W of North America) till about 1995. GREAT job, but a lot to tell there. My daughter Tori Mayumi Riess was born in 1988. Mayumi is Hawaiian for "beauty of the heart." BIG baby, almost 10 lbs.She had a great childhood, attended CSLB for 4 years majoring i Fashion Merchandising. She now works further & further up that ladder.
I'm retired, did at 50. Thennnn I contracted this damn virus called Encephalitis. Which got into my brain, messed me up and spent 2 months in the hospital. Top it off, even died a-couple times. Spent quite a while recovering and actually still am.
I now live in the mountains ( 6000ft ) above sea-level, above Los Angeles, right around Lake Arrowhead.
Enough here for now. I look forward to hearing what some of you - all that's going on / been going on
Thanks,
Baker / Scott
